The Sanskrit word “mantra” translates as ‘instrument of the mind’. The sounds and vibrations of a mantra can induce deeper states of meditation and open up access to the silent spaces in the mind. The more you repeat the word or phrases of a mantra the more abstract it becomes until you find yourself immersed in a deeper level of awareness and pure consciousness. Mantras can be subtle intentions to help you release negative states of mind and free yourself from worry or they may be abstract sounds that vibrate to let thoughts drop away. Mantras bring about peaceful solitude, tranquility and a true connection with life as it is now in the present moment.
